UPDATES to Beta 4 (5.0.0.365) (November 13 2001):
- FIX: Additional work-arounds for some Win98/Me machines that simply refused to properly resolve local machine database
connectivity in TCP/IP and load ActivatorDesk. New configuration analyzes database connection modes and selects an optimum mode.
This has substantially increased local database access program running speeds, synchronization, and provides redundancy.
- FIX: Fixed mouse Right-Click 'Open in New Window' in browser.. now opens new browser tab or window when requested.
- FIX: Improved Javascript link handling and popup window location.
- NEW: Go beyond the desktop security Windows offers; Added over 50 new security switches that include the ability to turn off (hide) the Windows standard desktop interface in favor of Agent's security 'TaskSwitch' minidesktop Start Menu replacement. For details please visit: more info
- NEW: Ad-Blocking filters added to protect against web-based 'Nimda' type virus infection. Yes this desktop browser will actually protect against such viruses through its Synchronize process, similar to antivirus software. In this case not only are ads blocked or removed from displayed web pages, but also the virus' link.
- NEW: Favorites Only Safe Websites Browsing! Now you can import any IE Favorites or Netscape bookmark files and restrict browsing to ONLY those websites on a individual Windows user account basis.
- NEW: Control Page Selection - New switch allows for the Administrator to designate the web page loaded up at startup of
ActivatorDesk and for any existing or New Users of the PC (Cannot be changed by regular user access.) directing the desktop, by default to specific web services or a corporate portal.
- NEW: Added new privacy switches to remove (wash or delete) evidence of browsing like 'Typed URLs' in Address Box and browsing History and Cache files, including cookies and links, upon each program shutdown.
- NEW: Network Desktops Deployment - ActivatorDesk full-install now may be used to 'Pull' a fully prepared master desktops security database across networks for mass desktops lockdown in a network. The same feature may be used to deploy wallpaper across a network and lock desktop settings down so it may not be changed.
- NEW: Import of Windows Users Profile Names - New feature allows mass setup of accounts in the master database by importing existing Windows user names into the database. Administrator may now even select Favorites and (Start Menu) Programs to use when importing and building a master database.
- NEW: Default New User Settings now include automatic copying of Favorites and/or Programs settings from specified user accounts. (Automatic Favorites and Programs installation.)
- NEW: ActivatorDesk Wallpaper is now available separately from downloads at http://www.activatordesk.com/download.htm made to
compliment aesthetics of locked desktop modes.
- NEW: Authenticate not just 'Who', but 'Where'... with patent pending 'Digital Dynamic Key' (DDK) integrated secure login for
web-based services who wish to not only authenticate login and password, but also the actual PC (location) as well for enhanced
automated low-cost security. (To view a demo of this login simply type 'workstation' in browser address box and press Enter..)
Note: This requires Administrator Synchronization before running.
- NEW: Added ability in Administrator to manually enter a desktop registration number.
- NEW: Added a Internet Connection modem dialer program that greatly simplifies connecting to the internet and provides for
securely passwording the dialup during selected access times.
- NEW: Added database update program for installs that adds new configurations to database tables.
- NEW: Updated InfoGrid metasearches scripting for videos, toys, jobs.
UPDATES to Beta 3b Ver. 5.0.0.302 (September 17 2001):

- Fix to Favorites display tree real-time updating after Add Favorite. Now works.
- Improved Cookie content read handling for Win2000.
